We recommend using a Silt 500 Silt Trap upstream of your soakaway system to preven the ingress of solids and silt. The Silt 500 Silt Trap will prolong the life of your soakaway ensuring it remains maintenance-free and working at its' full capacity. you can add a Silt 500 Trap to your basket below.
Your soil type will determine the efficiency of the soakaway system. We recommend that your groundwork contractor undertakes a percolation test on your soil to calculate the correct number of crates for your application. As a general guide, based on your soil type not being heavy/clay, you can estimate the size of your soakaway using a ratio of 1 crate per 20m2 of surface area that you are draining. However we do advise that the correct percolation tests are carried out prior to you purchasing your soakaway system.
These crates are suitable for pedestrian loads upto domestic vehicular loads. If the crates will be subject to light domestic vehicular loads please contact the sales team as we would require knowledge of the depth of cover, top surface cover, total depth of tank, type of ground (cohesive or granular) and the typical loading traffic in order to ensure the 20T crates are suitable.
